If you use the default settings, invoices are accessible to anyone with the link. For most users this is the easiest way to go. You can simply send the link to your client, they can view it and pay it, all with no login required. No muss, no fuss.
The downside, however, is that if somebody is clever enough, they might be able to guess the link and see an invoice they weren’t meant to see. For some users this may be a big concern, for others not at all.
We take privacy and security very seriously, which is why we provide several ways to protect your customers information, but as with any WordPress plugin it is ultimately up to you how you choose to do this.
1) Right out of the box, Sliced Invoices gives you 2 easy ways to protect your quotes/invoices. You can mark them “private”, which means you must be logged in to view them, or you can even password protect them. You can do both right from the “Quick Edit” menu.
2) You can use just about any content-restricting plugin. There are many good ones out there, like Restrict Content. These are plugins specifically designed to close off certain portions of your site and keep them private.
3) We also offer a Secure Invoices extension if you want an easy, set-and-forget solution.
It is important to be aware of these options and choose the one that best fits your needs.
